Past Meetings and Events

Here are details of all of our past meetings and events:

February 2024 Meeting – Share the Love

At our February meeting we all had a go at making a green heart for the #sharethelove campaign. It was great fun, even for us who aren’t very ‘crafty’ and I think we were all pretty happy with our endeavours 🙂

Thank you everyone who came along, we hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

January 2024 – London Trip

From Pam, our Treasurer ……

Mary and I joined other ladies from neighbouring WI’s on a trip to London on the 19-21st January. We met the coach outside Morrison’s in Carmarthen at 8am and off we set! We stopped off for breakfast at the services at Magor for an hour and then headed into London. We stayed at the Hilton Olympia Kensington, our rooms weren’t ready when we arrived, so we headed off out to find somewhere to have a couple of cocktails! We walked for a little while around Holland Park and then we saw The Mitre, that we had been on a previous trip. We found ourselves a comfy table and checked out the cocktail menu. My favourite was a Passionfruit Martini! I can’t remember what Mary had, or what the second cocktail was called – I do know that we had to get some chips to eat so that we could walk in a straight line!
We then headed back to the hotel for the evening where we met up with two other ladies, Nema and Hazel, for a meal and a giggle and a couple more cocktails.
Next day we had tickets to see The King and I at the Dominion Theatre. We had a few hours spare beforehand, so we met up with Nema and Hazel again, as they were also going to the same theatre, and had a walk around Tottenham Court Road. We stopped off for lunch at a lovely Turkish restaurant, and then headed to the theatre. The musical was fabulous! Helen George from Call the Midwife was the lead role and she was just wonderful. Afterwards we got a cab back to the hotel and met up with the ladies for our evening meal.
On the way home on the Sunday, we stopped at McArthur Glen Retail outlet for a couple of hours shopping and then onto a Beefeater for Sunday lunch. We arrived back at Carmarthen at about 6pm

January 2024 Meeting – Aromatherapy

What a fantastic start to the year!! It was lovely to welcome all of our ladies on back after the Christmas break.

Thank you to Rachel who was our fantastic speaker this month, and told us about all things Aromatherapy which is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit ….. we learnt how oils are made, the origin of aromatherapy, what the oils are used for and had a guess at smelling and guessing some oils.

December 2023 – Afternoon Tea

The ladies from the Wandering Willows had a very lovely afternoon tea at Amelia’s Vintage Tea Rooms today. Fabulous company, tasty sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream. What more do you need?!

December 2023 – Wandering Willows WI Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who came to our very first Christmas Fair today!

From the stallholders with their fabulous wares, to the children from Carway School who entertained us with some Christmas carols, and of course everyone who came along to buy some presents and enjoy a cuppa and slice of cake. We would also like to give a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our raffle, tombola stalls and in the kitchen today.

Once again, thank you all so much for your support, we raised £210.75 for Carway School.
